Michelle Aalbers, owner & operator of Jai Dee, is a Registered Thai Therapist (RTT), Reiki Master, yoga teacher (RYT 500), and a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT). She is committed to helping people go within to find their own healing for their highest potential. Michelle has a passion for learning and helping others which has led her to complementary studies such as Thai herbal compress, foot reflexology, Chi Nei Tsang, restorative yoga and aromatherapy. She strives to provide sessions and classes that meet the needs and exceed the expectations of her clients. Offerings are a sharing of energies and healing from a loving place with the highest intentions.
Becky helps clients connect to their own body and spirit through bodywork, reiki and yoga. Being a massage therapist since 2002 and adding Thai yoga bodywork over the last 3 years has taught not only compassion for others, but led her to find compassion for herself. She also has continuing education in craniosacral, oncology massage and deep tissue techniques. Finding new forms of self-care led Becky to experiencing Reiki and becoming a Master Reiki practitioner. Receiving her 200 RYT through Upward Facing Dawn and adding yoga to the mix was just another way of bringing self-care full circle and seeing the excitement of people realizing that any pose is accessible to every body.
Arja Lea Niskanen is a musician and group fitness instructor out of Saint Paul, MN. She found her love of fitness and wellness through POP Pilates and the added aspect of moving to the music. 2 years later once POP became a group fitness format she got certified so she could spread her passion of the combination of music and fitness to others in Minnesota. After getting POP Pilates Certified in 2017, she also went on to receive her ACE Group Fitness Instructor Certification in July 2018 after wanting a well rounded fitness education to provide a higher experience.
Jamie, a skillful Thai Bodywork Therapist, completed his Thai yoga bodywork training at Devanadi School of Yoga and Wellness in 2017. He has done additional Thai yoga bodywork training at workshops in the U.S. and has also studied in Chiang Mai, Thailand with Master Pichest. Previous to his Thai massage training, Jamie completed his 200 Yoga Teacher Training at The Yoga Center of Minneapolis in 2016. Jamie has found that Thai Yoga Bodywork can assist people with physical or emotional injuries and can support those going through recovery, starting new life patterns, and healing from trauma.
Mesha Hegna Goodwill is an RYT 200 yoga instructor, Reiki practioner, event manager, wife, and mom. She creates practices that are accessible to all fitness and experience levels. Mesha is passionate about creating a calming environment to bring peace to the mind, body, and spirit, while having fun and, at times, being a little silly.
Nicole has been a wellness facilitator and educator for over 22 years, offering services in massage therapy, energy healing, yoga, and meditation. In 1998, Nicole graduated from Colorado Institute of Massage Therapy, earning a certification in both massage and neuromuscular therapy. Over the years, she has spent time working in clinical, spa and health/ fitness environments, and as an educator in Massage Therapy and Reiki. She has continued her education in esoteric energy work, Usui, Karuna, and Celtic Reiki. Nicole is also a graduate of Devanadi Yoga’s 235hr and 340hr Teacher programs, with studies in classical Hatha yoga, Parayoga, and meditation. Nicole is passionate about helping people remember how to heal themselves. At Jai Dee, Nicole teaches all levels of Reiki, hatha yoga and meditation.
Jonna Duke brings her knowledge of yoga, reiki, parenting, art, and passion for therapeutic processing to Jai Dee through workshops and classes. She obtained her 340-hr. Yoga Teacher certification and Reiki 1 & 2 certifications from Devanadi School of Yoga, Y12SR Leader certification from Nikki Myers., 200-hr Yoga Teaching certification from Synergize Yoga, plus countless other trainings, courses, and self-development workshops. Jonna’s passion for connection and grounding provides an environment to deepen the practice. She has an enthusiasm for learning and has embraced the 8-limb path of yoga. The knowledge she obtains is passed on to her students during each interaction. As a mother, she looks for ways to bring the yogic life into her busy world. She loves to practice asana (postures) with her husband, children and friends searching for new perspectives and ways to create an inviting practice for those at all walks of life. “I am here to empower people to discover, emerge and celebrate their authentic self.
Jessica Jenness is mother of 3, an artist and a long time lover of nature. She began practicing yoga consistently with her first pregnancy 13 yrs ago. Yoga helped her find balance and strength through out the years. It helped her through pregnancies, births and raising a child with special needs. After feeling these amazing benefits she knew she had to share them with others. She started her 200 hr training at Sun Moon Yoga and prenatal training at Blooma in 2011. She has been teaching prenatal yoga ever since and has gone on to do more training though Devanadi’s 340hr and Smadhi Sun’s Autism Training. She knows how important it is to bring strength, love and peace into a mother’s day. You can not fill from an empty cup.
Bethany is a yoga practitioner with a deep appreciation of the transformative power of body, mind and spirit – for anyone and everyone. She has a rich background in movement, with a degree in theater, years of experience in coaching children’s gymnastics as well as work with people with special needs. Her yoga practice was sparked by her pre-natal classes in anticipation of her first child (now 11) and has continued through her personal practice and 230 and 500 hour teacher training with Tanya Boigenzahn at Devanadi Yoga. She has also completed a 2 restorative teacher trainings, Mind Body Solutions Level 1/2 and Advanced Studies. She aspires to provide a class experience that is rooted in the idea that mindfulness, collaboration, community and self-care are the seeds to living a more compassionate and purposeful life.
Nicole’s yin yoga journey began in 2015, when she began attending weekly classes in her neighborhood of Northeast Minneapolis. Always a fan of slowing down, she fell in love with the pace and purpose of yin. Nicole is grateful to have discovered yoga almost 20 years ago during her time at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, and has been on the path ever since. Nicole’s yin yoga training is with Michelle Pietrzak-Wegner, and she also completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training with Tanya Boigenzahn at Devanadi Yoga. Nicole is a Level II Usui Reiki practioner, and is interested in learning more about Ayurveda and yoga therapy. A few of Nicole’s other hats include teaching music and English, being a wife and auntie, and singing professionally. Her most favorite hobbies are reading, cooking and travel. She’s delighted to return to teaching yoga after an extended break, and very much looks forward to meeting the lovely Jai Dee community.
